For more than 32 years, the attorneys at the Law Offices of GRANT & ASSOCIATES have focused exclusively on representing clients in personal injury and employment law matters.

Personal Injury

The Law Offices of GRANT & ASSOCIATES has a well-earned reputation for successfully representing people who were injured by someone else’s negligence, carelessness or wrongful conduct.  The firm provides aggressive representation and personal service to clients in personal injury and wrongful death actions arising out of automobile accidents, slip and falls, medical malpractice, nursing home negligence, premises liability, negligent transport and other injuries.

We have successfully represented clients against insurers, doctors and other medical professionals, hospitals, nursing homes, negligent drivers, property owners, maintenance companies, and others.  We have obtained substantial settlements for injured people and their families, many exceeding $100,000, including more than $1 million in settlements in a wrongful death action against a local hospital and surgeons. 

On occasion, we review injury matters and, where appropriate, we make recommendations and referrals for Workers’ Compensation Claims, including claims filed with the Department of Labor and Industries.

Our attorneys are accessible, available to our clients and personally manage each case.  At the Law Offices of GRANT & ASSOCIATES, we use a team-based approach to ensure the best possible person is working on each aspect of a case, and to ensure that our clients get the highest quality service in a timely manner and with the most efficient use of resources.

Employment Law

The Law Offices of GRANT & ASSOCIATES has a long and established reputation for advocacy on behalf of people facing discrimination in the workplace.  Our team provides vigorous representation to clients who have been subjected to sexual harassment, a hostile work environment, retaliation, wrongful termination and discrimination because of race, religion, age, gender, pregnancy, national origin or sexual orientation.

We have successfully litigated and settled numerous discrimination cases against many large employers, including Fortune 500 companies, major banks, School Districts, and state, city and county governments throughout Washington, among others.  We have successfully obtained many hundreds of thousands of dollars in settlements for individuals and groups of employees in employment law cases.

We assist clients in wage and hour claims, helping them to get the unpaid wages, unpaid overtime or unpaid prevailing wages they have earned.  We also represent clients in Employment Security and unemployment hearings to obtain unemployment benefits.  The firm represents whistleblowers in Qui Tam actions when they have discovered their employers are defrauding the federal government and believe they can no longer stay silent.

Consultations in Employment Matters

The firm also offers one-time consultations for clients in employment matters, including providing advice to clients regarding potential resignations, review of severance and termination agreements, appeals of administrative hearings and other matters.  We will make sure you understand your rights and responsibilities in a particular employment matter.  We can usually arrange an appointment within 24 hours of a request.  If litigation or further representation becomes necessary, we can arrange to handle your case.

Other Areas Of Practice

The Law Office of GRANT & ASSOCIATES also offers a range of other legal services to serve our clients’ personal and business needs.  On the personal side, we help clients in estate planning matters, including drafting simple and complex wills, living trusts, powers of attorney, durable powers of attorney, irrevocable life insurance trusts (ILITs), charitable remainders, advance healthcare directives, trusts, estate tax planning, probate and estate administration.

We also assist clients in some business matters, including advising clients on business and financial transactions, assisting in the formation of limited liability companies and professional corporations, business development, contract review, business succession planning and other matters.

Referrals

The Law Office of GRANT & ASSOCIATES welcomes referrals from other attorneys.  We are pleased to be able to provide our particular expertise either associating as co-counsel in a case or assuming the representation of clients on behalf of fellow attorneys, with the full consent of the client.  We will work out fee arrangements with referring attorneys in compliance with the Rules of Professional Conduct of the State Bar of Washington. 

The firm’s main office is in Tacoma, Washington, with satellite offices in Seattle and Vancouver for the convenience of our clients.

Commitment To The Community

The Law Offices of GRANT & ASSOCIATES has a long-standing and recognized commitment to the community, through the individual efforts of each attorney and the firm as a whole.  In 2004, the firm was presented the Business of the Year Award by the Black Dollar Days Task Force, a group dedicated to promoting black economic enterprise.  The firm participates with Communities in Schools to provide job shadowing opportunities for young people interested in a career in the law.

In 2004, 2005, and 2006, the firm was a sponsor of the Pierce County Washington Women Lawyers Annual Benefit Auction and Dinner, From Black Tie to Tie Dye, which raises funds for the Legal Services Program at the YWCA—Pierce County and other causes; the firm is a lifetime member of the Tacoma Urban League; and is a contributor to various worthy efforts, including the Elizabeth Wesley Youth Merit Incentive Award Program, the Women’s Law Caucus at Seattle University School of Law and other programs.
