Dear Mr. Grant.

Thank you for fitting me in late on a Friday, when you had to be tired and trying to tie things up for the week.  Taking the time to talk with me on such short notice was so appreciated. I felt safer and calmer after consulting with you, and I followed your advice, advice I was grateful to have.

I made a call to you, but told your receptionist not to worry if you did not have time to call me back. I really knew the answer to my question, as you had told me to say nothing during the meeting scheduled for addressing my letter of reprimand. Thank you for trying to call back anyway.

The meeting was postponed several days, and so it did not take place until Friday, Jan. 8.  At the meeting. [the principal] said be had lowered the level of the charge to a letter of discipline.  He said this was considerably less severe than a letter of reprimand, or a verbal reprimand.  The letter would not go in my file; rather it would go into an office file of his and be removed in June.  I will make sure that happens. This was acceptable to me, and much more in keeping with what I would have expected to occur regarding this situation. [The principal] said other things during this meeting which lead me to hope I have misjudged him. Time will tell.

Thank you for your readiness to assist me and your sage advice. I was impressed with your ability to quickly grasp so much in so little time. When I commented to [a colleague] on what a smart attorney he had recommended, it was then that I heard of your impressive degrees. One does not have to know about your degrees to sense your remarkable gift.  (Ah yes, when one is in trouble, it is definitely reassuring to have brilliance on one's side.) I feel fortunate to have been accepted as your client.
It's good to know you are there if what I see as harassment continues, but I do believe it will stop.  With this in mind, hopefully, I will not be needing your services in the future regarding my teaching situation. However, it is so very good to know you are there just in case I do. Thank you again. Mr. Grant.

Additional Note: You have a wonderful receptionist. … She has such an empathetic and soothing way about her which is so calming to those of us who enter your office under stressful circumstances. I so appreciated the genuine concern and respect she made sure I felt during my interactions with her.
