Americans with Disabilities Act – Access Issues
Titles II and III of the Americans with Disabilities Act prohibits discrimination
against qualified persons with disabilities in services, programs and
activities provided by public entities, businesses and non-profit organizations. This
act ensures that disabled individuals are able to access and use the
same services and programs that are offered to the general public. Accommodation
may include, but is not limited to:
- Making existing facilities used by employees readily accessible to
and usable by persons with disabilities.
- Adjusting policies such as permitting dogs on the property if the
dog is a service dog.
- Acquiring or modifying class rooms, adjusting examinations, providing
qualified readers or additional equipment.
The Law Office of GRANT & ASSOCIATES has fought on behalf of qualified
persons with disabilities for increased access to public services for
these individuals.
